Our Equity Statement

McMUN is committed to equity and inclusivity. This year, our Director of Equity, Ari Vogli, has been dedicated to creating and maintaining an inclusive environment at McMUN by implementing strong equity standards across the conference. You will soon be able to learn more about these guidelines in our Delegate Code of Conduct.

To uphold these standards, Ari is working closely with all portfolios to ensure that all departments and staff at the conference are thoroughly equity-trained. Throughout McMUN, Ari and his team will be available at all times to support delegates. Equity flowcharts—complete with team photos—will be posted before McMUN to help delegates easily identify where to go if they need assistance. The Equity Portfolio supports delegates both in navigating conference-wide equity concerns and in addressing issues that may arise within committee and during debate. Additionally, safe spaces will be available at all times, and a QR code will be provided for confidential disclosures, offering an alternative for those who may not feel comfortable approaching the Equity team directly.

We encourage all delegates, advisors, and staff to support one another throughout the conference. Creating an inclusive environment is a shared responsibility and we ask all members of the McMUN community to speak up, offer support, and/or seek assistance when witnessing behavior that may undermine another participant’s safety and belonging. In looking out for one another, McMUN can remain a welcoming space for everyone.

Please note that McMUN strictly prohibits any form of discrimination or bias based on sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status, or any other factors that could hinder our commitment to equity.
