Letter from the Undersecretary-General, Committee Affairs

Dear Delegates,

It is my honour to welcome you all to the 37th rendition of the McGill Model United Nations Assembly. My name is Inès Wolff (she/her/elle) and I am proud to serve as the Under-Secretary-General, Committees Affairs, for McMUN 2026. I am currently in my third year at McGill University, studying International Development with a double minor in Gender Studies and History.

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce my three incredible deputies: Ari Vogli (he/him) as Deputy of General Assemblies and ECOSOCs, Gillian Vetters (she/her) as Deputy of Specialized Agencies, and Helena Kennedy (she/her) as Deputy of Crisis. They have worked tirelessly to create an incredible slate of committees that address pressing issues while creating stimulating debate. Together, we are committed to creating an equitable but challenging environment for you all to grow as delegates and people.

Over the next year, McMUN Team Committees will be working tirelessly to develop the innovative, challenging, and thought-provoking committees that you will be participating in. From discussing new solutions to the worldwide housing crisis to navigating sports rivalry in Australian rugby, this year’s slate offers delegates the opportunity to challenge and push themselves to be better debaters and diplomats. Whether this is your first conference or the last hurrah of your MUN career, we hope that you come out with a new skill, perspective, or friend.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding committees, background guides, or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing you all in January and watching you debate, collaborate, create creative crisis arcs, and resolutions.

I hope you all enjoy this conference and come out of it with a memorable experience, whether that is a spirited debate or McParté.

Welcome to Montréal and McMUN!

Best of luck,

Inès Wolff
