General Assembly Committees
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - ECOFIN
From gender equality in mortgage lending to carbon pricing policies, the Economic and Financial Committee will discuss some of the most pressing contemporary issues in the spheres of economics and finance. ECOFIN customarily exists at the intersection of economic and social policy, and we hope to see debate on both sides of the spectrum. The topics that will be discussed are: A) Improving Accessibility to Consumer Financial Products and B) Economic Incentives to Mitigate Greenhouse Gas Emissions. The goal of this committee is to discuss concrete economic and financial regulation policy solutions to the topics, and as such delegates with some level of academic study in either macroeconomic theory or finance will be much more comfortable with the content. However, delegates from all backgrounds are welcome. This committee will also do away with traditional position papers in favour of strategy papers, which will be explained further in the background guide.
