Esther Lexchin
Chargee d'Affaires
Program & Year: International Development Studies and Political Science
Birthplace: New Zealand
chargee@mcmun.org
Esther Lexchin is in her fourth year at McGill, inching ever closer to a degree in International Development Studies and Political Science. Although born in New Zealand, her parents decided against leaving her to be raised by sheep, and returned to Toronto. She discovered her passion for pretend UN at the tender age of 14, and has been involved in various conferences since then. When she’s not partying all night at the McGill library complex or working on McMUN, she enjoys traveling, watching bad TV, and hanging out with the under-12 crowd at summer camp and the McGill student daycare.

Brock Clancy
Chief of Staff
Program & Year: Political Science and Finance
Birthplace: Moncton, New Brunswick
staff@mcmun.org
Dominating, breathtaking, gifted, and awe-inspiring, are just a few of the words that one can use to describe Brock Clancy (or that he uses to describe himself). Currently hailing from the fighting city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Brock has always ‘kept it real’. Brock enjoys getting tanned by day, sleeping by afternoon, and partying by night – what he refers to as the McGill lifestyle. He is happy to be joining the Secretariat team, and has taken a Zen-like approach to his Chief of Staff position, with plans to make McMun 2009 a memorable occasion. Keeping you away from Dangerous girls (shout-out to Akon), Brock plans to help all delegates Break the Ice that is Montreal (shout-out to B. Spears). Get excited and be ready to go because at McMun 2009 we have only two minutes to save the world and will most definitely be ‘getting down’ like Chris Brown.

Sonja Pavic
USG, Committee Affairs
Program & Year: Psychology and Political Science
Birthplace: Toronto, Ontario
committees@mcmun.org
Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, skipping along to England, and somehow ending up in Canada, Sonja will forever deny any claims of being a Toronto girl. If she wasn't doing a Joint Honors in Political Science and Psychology at McGill, Sonja would most likely be living in a tree house in the Monteverde rainforest of Costa Rica. Other than diligently editing background guides, Sonja loves traveling the world, running, and dancing, anywhere and everywhere. Her passion for international relations and diplomacy has manifested itself into an over-enthusiastic, somewhat obsessive McMUN member. She is ecstatic to be apart of this incredible McMUN team and so looks forward to putting on the best McMUN conference yet!

Ching-Wei Ginger Lee
USG, Finance
Program & Year: Marketing & Accounting
Birthplace: Taiwan
finance@mcmun.org
Ginger has spent most of her 21 years in the suburbs of Vancouver, where life is wonderful and the beaches of the Pacific Ocean are only 10 minutes away. Having neither worries nor cares in this world, Ginger experienced her first MUN when she came to McMUN in 2005, where she learned the importance of global collaboration and understanding. Now with some experience in MUN, Ginger is returning for her second year on the McMUN Secretariat. Balancing numbers may not be Ginger's top forte, but sprinkled with her best effort, she ensures you McMUN 2009 will be the best yet!

Following a life-long national-identity crisis Claire decided that McMUN was the right place for her. Born in Germany, flown to Japan, invited to Austria and now in Canada, Claire eagerly looked forward to being part of the truly McGill 'United Nations' community. Her second year on the McMUN secretariat, Claire knows this Assembly 2009 will surpass all expectations. Dedicated to promoting McMUN, her home away from home, Claire is working to bring this year's conference to a whole new level of performance as well as placing it on the international stage. Her trusty pocket of languages will surely come to use and with it wishes everyone the largest welcome possible to McMUN 2009--you're in for the weekend of a lifetime!

Sarah is in her third year at McGill pursuing a degree in political science with minors in history and communication studies. While Sarah is an Ottawa native, she is now racking up her frequent flyer miles by living in 3 cities in Canada and the US. Sarah fell in love with Model UN in high school and is excited to take on the new challenges of her secretariat portfolio—making sure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. When not thinking about McMUN, Sarah loves exploring Montreal, shopping, not sleeping, and coordinating and refereeing McGill intramural basketball.

Cathal Rooney-Cespedes
Deputy Director of Public Relations
Program & Year: Cultural Studies and Political Science
Birthplace: Boston, Massachusetts
deppr@mcmun.org
Having spent his high school days at a small prep school outside of Boston, Cathal was met with one of the larger culture shocks by the vibrant culture of McGill and Montreal. Nonetheless, he quickly immersed himself into the student community by becoming the Entertainment Coordinator for McMUN last year. This year, as one of the Secretariat's youngest members, Cathal looks to add his youth and enthusiasm to his role as Deputy Director of Public Relations. Don't let this 19 year-old face fool you though; Cathal has been a part of the Model UN culture since the beginning of high school, and he knows exceptional commitment and work it will take in making this year's conference one that will never be forgotten... in a good way.
